ABOUT LAURA BEDAL

Laura is a CPA, CMA who has dedicated much of her career (20+ years) working for private businesses. With a focus on helping management use financial results to find ways to improve operations, Laura has always tried to be more than an accountant for her business partners.

In 2015, Laura was given the opportunity to support a group of small businesses in a variety of industries. This triggered a new passion for Laura: Using the skills she learned at large companies to teach smaller companies how to operate like they were already a large company.

With her passion for helping small businesses, Laura was inspired to start her own practice. With a focus on businesses who may not have the time and resources to hire a professional finance team, Laura wants to provide the “PROFESSIONAL CONTROLLER” expertise economically, through her own practice.

Now, I am in the same position as my clients, a small, family business looking to grow.

Laura understands that as her clients are growing their businesses, there are other priorities - like family - which makes balancing all of the business needs a hard task. “It takes a village to raise a family. The same is true of your family business. I brush my own teeth, but I let a professional do my regular teeth cleaning. Even though I will manage your accounting needs, you will still participate in your financial health.”

Quickbooks Online is available to the public. Can I do this without you?

You can certainly buy a subscription and record transactions. The benefit of using me, as a ProAdvisor, is:

You do not have to make time to learn all features of the software or the time to do the accounting work.
As an accountant, I bring my 20+ years experience which will shorten the time spent on analysis / understanding.
You will still be involved. I recommend that my clients invoice their customers and pay their bills because you are still the "face" of the business. My role is to ensure that it is captured efficiently and to highlight any "watchouts".
It is cost efficient to use me because the cost of one accountant is shared among all my clients. You get a professional accountant for a fraction of the cost (and I have access to savings on the software of which you can share)!

I have "my way" of looking at things. I don't need fancy reports. I just want to know if I am doing well.

Then we agree! I only want to provide information that will help you to manage your business. All reports are able to be customized to your needs. A report for your bank or for taxes should look differently than the one that you use to manage your business. If anyone gives you a one size fits all report, then you are not getting the service level you deserve.
